E-Z Patch® 5 (White) Coping Stone Repair allows you to repair cracks, chips or large missing chunks on coping stones. This product contains special acrylic modified materials with pozzolans (siliceous volcanic ash) and polymers.
After product application, swimming may be allowed the next day. Liquid acrylic bonder is included inside of kit. All of our cement repair kits may be color adjusted using any cement dye. Available in 1 lb., 3 lb., 10 lb. & 50 lb. sizes.
2. Scrub area with water and brush using muriatic acid or powdered laundry detergent if needed.
3. Immediately rinse the area thoroughly and allow to dry until slightly damp.
4. FOR RESETTING PIECES OF COPING STONE: Use E-Z PATCH® 3 (Thinset) OR FOR A FLEXIBLE REPAIR dry the surfaces completely and use E-Z PATCH® 22 NEUTRAL CURE SILICONE RUBBER. Apply some to each piece and press into place firmly.
5. Add LIQUID CEMENT BONDER to E-Z PATCH® 5 DRY CEMENT MIX (for using just part of the kit you can use fractions EXAMPLE = 1/4 of the liquid cement bonder to 1/4 of the dry mix).Add water and mix until you get the consistency of very stiff “mashed potatoes”. Use warm water for faster set and cold water to slow set.
6a. FOR CHIP REPAIR: Apply one thin “scratch coat” of E-Z PATCH® 5 and then fill the area full. Trowel it fairly smooth and flat. Immediately remove excess from edges with a moist sponge. For larger gaps
apply a little extra E-Z PATCH® 5 without troweling flat and smooth. Wait 15 to 30 min. until very firm and then, using a trowel or any flat piece of metal or wood, scrape off excess. Using a nail, etc. make coping stone pattern by pressing into fresh repair 1/8” deep. Trowel area again flat and smooth with a clean moist trowel for finish.
6b. FOR CRACK OR GROUT REPAIRS: Rub E-Z PATCH® 5 deep into crack and remove any excess with a moist sponge.
Allow to dry overnight before swimming.
