Below are our E-Z Patch® 2 Pool Deck Repair color options. All of our cement repair colors may be adjusted using any cement dye. Available in 1 lb., 3 lb., 10 lb. & 50 lb. sizes.
Before mixing and applying the repair material, make sure it is the right color and material match! It is sometimes hard to see exactly what the color will be from computer monitor screens.
Take a small amount of dry material out of the repair kit and mix with water to be the consistency of “Putty”. Then, wet the existing surface that you are trying to match and compare the wet sample to the wet existing surface. If the material needs to be darker, add a very small amount of E-Z Patch Black Cement Dye and dry mix well. If the material needs to be lighter, add a very small amount of E-Z Patch Titanium Dioxide White Cement Colorant and dry mix well. Both colors are available on our website. You can also use any good cement dye. Repeat this process until the color match is satisfactory.

E-Z INSTRUCTIONS FOR A “KOOLDECK® TYPE HIGH-LOW TEXTURE:
1. Chip out any loose or flaking pooldeck.
2. Scrub area with water and brush using muriatic acid or laundry soap if needed.
3. Immediately rinse the area thoroughly and dab with sponge until damp only.
4. Add LIQUID CEMENT BONDER to DRY CEMENT MIX (for using just part of the kit you can use fractions EXAMPLE = 1/4 of the liquid cement bonder to 1/4 of the dry mix).Add water and mix until you get the consistency of “stiff mashed potatoes” to release the dye color. (1 part liquid cement bonder to 3 parts water).
5A. FOR CRACK REPAIR: Rub E-Z PATCH® 2 into crack assuring deep penetration into crack (add more water to mix if needed). Remove excess immediately with a moist sponge. Rinse sponge often. Allow repair to dry, and then remove any residue with a dry cloth.
5B. FOR SMALL AREAS: Trowel about ¼” thick of E-Z PATCH® 2 onto the area, and then use your fingertips to “tap” E-Z PATCH® 2 all over to produce the “peaks” desired. If too wet to “peak”, wait or use a hair dryer until it stiffens enough to retain “peaks”.
5C. FOR LARGER AREAS: Add more water and mix to produce the consistency of gravy. Apply with a cooldeck dash brush leaving “peaks”.
6. Remove excess from edges immediately with a moist sponge.
7. Allow the repair to dry (or use a hair drier) until the surface dulls, stiffens and doesn’t stick to your clean moist trowel. Trowel the tops of the “peaks”, starting with a light touch, increasing pressure a little at a time until you achieve the finished pattern desired. Keep your trowel moist and clean! If the repair is allowed to dry too hard to trowel, just mist or sprinkle the repair with water and trowel it again. Do not allow foot traffic for at least 24 hours and furniture for 3 days.
E-Z PATCH® 2 color will lighten when it dries but will darken somewhat as it cures. It takes 28 days for cement to cure.
To make a Custom Color with any of our cement type repair supplies, use any cement dye.

Worked great repairing parts of the pool deck ,I have a throw down surface ,and while the color did not match my deck it doesn’t look bad and will eventually be repainted

Perfect product for repairing concrete cracks and holes in pool patio. Great quality and last a long tome. You can paint right over it once it dries and it looks seamless.

This product did exactly what I wanted it to do. My cool decking was chipping in places and this was an easy fix. The color didn’t match well but as I intended to repaint anyway it wasn’t a problem. I would recommend this product.

I purchased this to repair my eroded Kool deck. The product adheres well and even though the color was not a perfect match, I didn’t expect that. Just follow the instructions, you don’t have to be exact to the decimal in your measurements when you mix just eyeball it. I used a putty knife to apply, let it set a few minutes, and then sanded it down and smoothed it out with a damp sponge.

I had a quote of nearly $3000 from Sundek to patch 7 smallish areas and a crack on my pool deck, that Sundek installed 10 years ago. I did some research and found this product and did the job myself for around $300, which included a 5 gallon pail of Systex polymer acrylic paint, available at R1 Supply. Though the patch color I ordered here turned out to be Stegmeier Sand Buff and not the more closely matching Mortex Sand Buff, as per the color chart at E-ZPatch, I used it anyway, knowing I would paint the whole deck after the repairs were completed. You can order directly from E-ZPatch after looking at their color chart and you can call if you have questions, or you can send a photo to them to help match your deck color.
One thing I learned while working with the product is that you have to be patient after applying it, in order to get a good stiffness in the peaks you create with your fingertips (as per the excellent video), before you lightly and deftly knock them down with your trowel to create a match to your deck’s texturing. If you get the technique wrong, just sprinkle a little, and I mean a LITTLE, water on the patch, or add a tad more mixture over the patch, then wait til it sets up to where it doesn’t stick to the trowel, then knock it down using very light stokes at first. If you are still not happy with the texturing, you can scrape/etch with the point of the trowel, then either lightly knock it down again or use a slightly damp sponge to wipe away the residue. The product sands very easily, too, so you can make the patch areas level with the surrounding deck. I’d never done this kind of work before, and am very happy with the results.

Repaired an area that had chipped out – holding better than the original and blended right in so not noticeable at all.

I needed to repair chunks of mortar that had fallen from a jacuzzi spillway and between the coping and jacuzzi wall that had cracked along a good 6-8 foot section and with higher water splashes was leaking through to the pool deck. My coping mortar is grey and the spillway sanded mortar is sand, so I figured this color (sand) would be close to both, and yup it’s a nice sand color and dries lighter. Since this photo where you can clearly see the difference in colors where the repair work was done, it’s dried 24h later to a perfect match to the sanded mortar and is obviously lighter than the grey concrete under the coping but that’s hidden under the coping so I don’t care.
For those reviewers complaining about the directions, slow down and think about it. It’s 1-1 powder and bonder and 3-1 water and powder, very simple. If you use enough powder to empty 1/3ish of the small container, then simply use 1/3ish of the little bottle of bonder, and mix in water to desired consistency of the resulting mortar – thinner to drip into cracks, thicker to push into cracks and build shapes to match larger cracks. It dries pretty quick so work fast and use a splash of water to fix what you mess up, super easy, don’t overthink it (I dropped little blobs all over the place and they wiped up easy with a wet sponge). Wash up with clean water a few times to remove all the swirl marks from previous wipes, use more splashes of water to sand down over application areas and you’re done.

I purchased this product to repair a 1’x3′ section pool deck that had separated from the underlying concrete. I scraped up the old deteriorated pieces, cleaned the concrete and applied the E-Z patch per instructions and some videos that I found online. It is a very high quality product to the extent that I was able to match the original section very closely. My technique needs a little work but E_Z Patch did a great job.

This pool deck concrete repair kit is very valuable if you need a small repair and don’t want a company to come out and charge you a bunch of money. The rust color I selected was that perfect match and came out perfect. Similar products are available but this is the brand you want and will give you the best results.

We had a spa filled in and a few years later a crack appeared and got worse. This filled in missing concrete. Easy to use per husband. This was a tan color when dried. We will paint pool deck so no problem.

We moved our pool fence, (by we I mean my husband ) when we purchased our home. Pool fence up to end of cool deck. My husband used this to fix holes left when moving. You cannot even tell the fence holes were there. Would but this over again. Honestly. We have so much left we will not need to purchase for awhile. Great product and value.

Previous owners were tricky and put a thin layer of spray-on deck over a very cracked concrete surface. My husband chiseled out the dirty cracks to clean concrete and also cleaned off areas where there were bare concrete patches. Product was very easy to use and did a great job of filling the cracks and preventing further damage to the pool deck and lanai. We then pressure washed and painted the whole deck and lanai with Pool Deck paint. It really looks amazing and probably saved us thousands of dollars compared to having the deck professionally repaired. Highly recommend this product if you want to diy your deck.
